About Us

Jason Friesen is a writer, director and producer of Métis descent based in Vancouver, BC. He develops and produces projects under the banner of Chasing Pictures Inc. In 2008 Jason produced the animated series The Adventures of Artie the Ant , for APTN, with co-creator and co-writer, Dasha Novak. Also in 2008 Jason wrote and directed the documentary film Karl May & The Wild West filmed on location in Germany, Texas and New Mexico. Jason Co-Produced Karl May & The Wild West with Executive Producer Kirk Shaw from Insight Film Studios and Executive Producer Larry Sugar from No-Equal Entertainment.

Currently, Jason is producing and developing a casual on-line video game for children and an interactive website for Health Nutz through the Bell New Media Fund. He is currently developing the first season of the half hour tv dramedy Health Nutz and is in production on season two of the animated series The Adventures of Artie the Ant .

Dasha Novak was born in Czech Republic, defected from the communist regime, and studied at Rutgers University in New Jersey, TRU in Kamloops, and Emily Carr University in Vancouver, British Columbia. She holds a BA with concentration in Psychology, a BFA, and a Masters in Media Arts. Dasha has been working as a Writer, Story Editor and Producer/ Executive Producer under the banner of Chasing Pictures Inc. In 2008, Dasha produced the animated series The Adventures of Artie the Ant that she co-created and co-wrote with Jason Friesen for APTN.
